We want to thank you for your very nice guide in Kyoto, you really succeded in showing us the different and most beautifull faces of the town and we spent a wonderful day with you. Extraordinary! We embarked on a father and son trip August 07.09 from Chicago USA to Japan to fulfill a promise I made to my son some years back. We planned two destinations, Tokyo and Kyoto.
We began in Tokyo with all that a modern world city has to offer, but wanted to contrast that to Japan's great history, so Kyoto was our other choice. With all the significance Kyoto holds we wanted a tour guide to give us a knowledgeable and authentic experience that transcended the tour guide cliche of the canned presentation
. After much research we choose Kyoto Free Guide and Takako as our guide and she did a great job! Being from Kyoto showed in her sincere interest to share her city, she was very friendly and knowledgeable and her English is impeccable. As a result, our conversations often turned to the type of topics that provided my son and I a genuine insight not only to the tourist sites but to local people and customs and their everyday experiences of life, family and work. We enjoyed trading stories of American and Japanese culture.
In school my son just completed his first year of learning to speak Japanese, so during these conversations she often helped him with the subtleties of the Japanese language. Which upon returning to his Sophomore year in High School have blustered my son's confidence in class and impressed his teacher.
She tailored our tour with a garden and architecture focus (as requested) and it was perfect! We also requested a last minute addition to our day when we were inspired by a tea room at one of the temples. I asked if she could arrange a tea ceremony that day, she accommodated the request without any problems. The impromptu tea ceremony became a highlight of our entire trip. Our day extended well over the anticipated time we agreed upon but Takako did not rush us at all. We concluded our day with a hope that paths might cross again.

I just wanted to express my thanks to Ririko (my guide) and Tomoko for their hospitality and help in experiencing some of the fantastic sights around Kyoto. Ririko was articulate and knowledgeable; showing me areas that the average tourist will probably never see. We visited major temples such as Byodoin in Uji, but also much more remote sights in the Sagano area. Rikiko also provided excellent advice as to places to visit during the remainder of my stay in Kyoto. I can't thank KFG enough for the excellent service that they provide.

We finally returned home to Malaysia today after an exhausting but very enjoyable trip to Japan! I only had the chance to come online now so I apologize if our response in giving you feedback for the guide has been slow. Speaking of which, first and foremost, Thank You So Much for taking the time to bring us around Kyoto on 30th August! Having you as our guide in showing and sharing with us the jewels of such a beautiful traditional city was both a very enriching and fun experience. We felt really privileged to have someone like you to talk with, whether the conversations involved the usual Questions & Answers about the city or casual discussions about everyday life in Kyoto such as the wedding you witnessed at Yasaka Shrine once. We doubt we would get the same valuable experience had we just toured Kyoto on our own using a guide book or learn about the city by watching the conventional travel documentary. Our rich experience of Kyoto would not have been the same without Tomoko-san. THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN AND AGAIN! Our family of four (including two very tired boys ages 7 and 10) had only a brief time in Kyoto. On our first 1/2 day, Tomoko guided us through the Golden Pavilion, Nijo Castle and the Nishiki Market - all of which our entire family enjoyed. Tomoko also suggested the manga museum which was unique and fun for the kids. On our next 1/2 day, Tomoko suggested the monkey park for the children; unfortunately, we got rained out. Instead, Tomoko came up with a creative alternative of attending a Japanese candy making class which was a blast because it was interactive and they got to do it with other Japanese kids. Tomoko's wealth of information and ideas extends beyond the must-see sights. She was an invaluable resource for us, and wihtout her, our limited time in Kyoto would have been a lot less meaningful. Tomoko We are finally staying awake in the evening after returning from our wonderful trip to Japan. One of the reasons it was so memorable is because of the time we spent with you. We enjoyed your time with us so much and appreciated your generosity. It was so kind of you to give us a second day with you. While we saw many historical sights in Japan, it is the people that we met that we will keep in our hearts. Your kindness will never be forgotten. We enjoyed the rest of our trip, going on to Nara and Hiroshima before returning to Tokyo. We ate okonomiyaki 2 more times, including Hiroshima style with noodles. Alan now has to buy me a griddle for my birthday so I can try to make it at home! We did get to the baseball game in Hiroshima on a beautiful warm day. It has been a great day, with Tomoko. We visited Golden pavillion, Kotoin (in Daitokuji ), the Nijo Castle and the Nishiki Food Market. A day or two are not sufficient for fully exploring the beauty of a city like Kyoto, but with the professionality and kindness of my guide I think I've been able to have a glimpse of it, anyway. She helped me out with preparing my visit alone for the next day, too, mainly in the Higashiyama area. If I hadn't contacted the Kyoto Free Guide, probably my brief visit would have been much more superficial. So, in the finished article, I want to thank again Tomoko and the other Kyoto free guides for the invaluable service they do to their charming city. Recommended.

October 20 and the first day of my first visit to Kyoto I was met by Nobuko at the main railway station. She was a wonderful guide, showing me sights in the city that I would never have found on my own. Apart from the main tourist attractions she was able to show me serene temples and shrines and some tranquil gardens where the bright colours of autumn could be seen. We enjoyed a wonderful Japanese lunch and rubbed shoulders with a famous Japanese actress who was filming in the Nishiki Market - a foodies paradise. All in all a wonderfully memorable day - or as we would say in the West Midlands (UK) a bostin day!!	.

We spent a whole day in Kyoto with Mrs Nobuko. We appreciated her competence, culture and kindness! We also had a great okonomiyaki lunch together!

Tomoko was an extremely knowledgeable guide and arrived promptly at our hotel lobby to meet us. She took us to Kinkakuji and Ryoanji in the morning, lunch at Nishiki Market and a quiet evening at Fushimi Inari shrine. This was quite an exciting and memorable experience for us and we will treasure it always. Thanks Tomoko for spending an entire day with us! Keep up the excellent work! :)

Takako was a great guide. She was very friendly, nice and knowledgeable. Her English is impeccable; and she made our first day in Kyoto thoroughly enjoyable. We highly recommend her! -Family with 2 teenagers	.

Tomoko-san guided me around Kyoto, 6/28. It was a very enjoyable experience. I got lots of insight about Japanese history and culture. I don't have any suggestions about improving the tour. I appreciate the nearly 8 hours I spent with Tomoko.

We saw some very interesting places. We felt at ease and we didn't have to worry about how to get where we wanted. The guides showed us around the shrines, museums and parks, explaining and translating for us. We also had lunches together and enjoyed the conversations.
